David started on the mission field in January 1992, Sharon in January 2001 (with Sarah) & Susan, July 2003.

David and Sharon Faris are missionaries with Wycliffe Bible Translators. They work in eastern Chad among the Zaghawa people, a people group who has been profoundly touched by the DarFur crisis in Sudan. Their main goal at this time is to produce an alphabet for the language they are working in, as preparation for the translation of the Scriptures into their language. God blessed them with the opportunity to produce 32 radio programs, and Scripture lessons to systematically share the Word of God with this people. They will begin to be broadcast starting in October 2005. Please pray for these messages to be used by the Holy Spirit to draw many people to Christ. Sharon is primarily involved in the home school education of their daughter Sarah, who is now in second grade. She is also an encouragement to many of the missionary ladies they come in contact with, and hosts a ladies Bible study on Wednesday afternoons.
